As BRTSL is located within a developed area, nearly every Halts require a different design as compared to a typical design. All Halts are designed with allowance for an elevated pedestrian bridge crossing under the BRT alignment. Generally, the halts can be separated into three levels, ground/street level (areas where halt entrances are located), pedestrian bridge crossing (connecting both platforms) and concourse/platform level, which divided into entrance level, unpaid area and paid area.

The main idea of the Halts is to encourage and attract ridership to a public mass transit system and to accommodate passenger movement to and from the BRT vehicles, and at the same time create a new landmark and make a positive contribution to the urban environment.

The halts allowed for a large number of people to enter and leave the system conveniently and safely. Halts facilitated passenger circulation and based on simple, open concepts. By choosing expanded metal as the main façade material, the material itself create a transparency between the inner and outer of the halts, which the movement inside the halts create moving shadows as appears as a moving lantern.
